This pilot proposes the integration of advanced traceability technologies into denim production to ensure transparent, verifiable use of at least 20% post-consumer recycled (POCR) cotton. The goal is to maintain Denim Deal technical requirements while showcasing the environmental and consumer engagement potential of traceable circular denim. Activities include selecting traceability tools (such as blockchain, DNA markers, or digital passports), sourcing traceable POCR cotton, ensuring technical compliance, and presenting verified products at the KP Show in November 2025. The pilot will also deliver lifecycle assessments, feasibility reports, and consumer storytelling assets. It aligns with upcoming EU legislation (ESPR, CSDDD, DPP) and aims to set a scalable, industry-wide model.
