About
This pilot focuses on creating a standardized set of technical fabric requirements based on quality and durability metrics. The first version of these guidelines has been benchmarked against 100% virgin cotton garments, proving that denim with 20% post-consumer recycled (POCR) cotton can match the same performance standards. The guidelines include specific test requirements such as tear strength, seam strength, and tensile strength, and all fabrics must meet these metrics, be GRS certified, and contain at least 20% POCR. These guidelines are the foundation of the Denim Deal Framework and will be updated in alignment with upcoming legislation, especially around EcoDesign and durability. Any member wishing to showcase a Denim Deal-approved fabric must follow these guidelines and the broader framework.
